Study on Knowledge of Infant´s Feeding of Mothers in Rural Area -Centered Chun Sung Kun, Kang Won Do-

Abstract
|
|
|
This study was undertaken to evaluate the knowledge and practice of infant´s feeding of mothers in rural area in Chun Sung Kun, Kang Won Do in Dec. 1974. The results were based on a questionare from 58 mothers who have children under 6 years old.
Result were as follows:
1) About 40% of them have obtained knowledge of infant´s feeding from their mothers or relatives.
2) mothers who haven´t fed colostrum were 26%. Because they thought it´s uncleaned secretion.
3) Unsatisfactory lactated first 3 days after birth mothers who haven´t fed anything to the newborn were 29.3%
Rest of them gave to the newborn honey, barley, sugar-water and cow´s milk. 4) For 6 months after birth mothers who had breast feeding were 87.9%. 5) Mothers who had supplementary feeding within 6 months were- 6.9%.
6) Mothers who thought weaning time is a year after birth were 12% but only
5% of them have under taken.
7) Mothers who understood correctly the sterilizing method of equipment were 36.2%.
